General questions about Cultural Competency Training: Live Webinar and Online ONLY versions training

  • Will I receive a certificate at the end of the training?

    Yes, at the end of the training, after completing the post-evaluation, a certificate is available for download and/or printing. Make sure to submit the certificate to your employer and keep a copy for yourself. The certificate is good for 1 or 2 years from the date of completion. Depending on the course - see certificate for details.

  • Is this course approved by the State of Nevada to meet the requirements of NRS 449 and NRS 630?

    Yes, this course is a state approved course. NRS 449 is for licensed healthcare facilities (https://www.leg.state.nv.us/nrs/nrs-449.html#NRS449Sec103) This course is approved by individual licensing boards - please check with your board for more information. NRS630 is for Mental health professionals (https://www.leg.state.nv.us/nac/nac-630.html#NAC630Sec153)

  • Are CEUs offered?

    We work with an outside provider to assist with nursing CEUs. Other licensing boards may accept this training - please contact them directly for more information.

  • How many ways are there to access the 449 ONLYtraining?

    (1) Live webinar over zoom. The cost of this training is $100/per person. This training is spread over three days with 3-hour sessions for a total of 9 hours. The live training has a group discount of up to 50 people is discounted to $2,500 and for 51 to 100 is $5,000. (2) Online ONLY version is an asynchronous training available 24/7/365. The length of the training is approximately 5 hours but will depend on the learner. There is no discount for the online version due to the technology costs but it is easy to access and folks can complete it at home, at the office, and even as part of the onboarding process. The online self-paced version can be set up with a code specific to your facility to make it easy for staff to access the course. (3) Course Development: ASL Training can develop training with your facility branding that is available to upload into your learning management system. (4) Training revisions: If you have submitted your own course for approval by the state and have been asked to revise the course, ASL Training can work with you to ensure approval of your course.

  • Is there an on-line self-paced course for NRS 449 as well as NRS 630??

    yes, please see the registration page for all available courses including the online only version.

  • Does everyone in a group have to register for the course or can we share a computer?

    During the live webinar version, everyone will need to be registered and logged in to receive a certificate. Groups may share a large screen and participate as a group.

  • How do I register for the class?

    you will need to create a profile to register for the course. Then go to the registration page and select the day or course you would like to register for. Please make sure you log in before the course date to ensure access to the zoom sessions. It has been found that Chrome is the preferred browser for zoom - if you are having trouble with the zoom links - please try switching browsers.

  • What happens during the live training?

    During the live webinars, polling through everypoll.com and breakout rooms are used to facilitate discussions and topics.

  • I’m hard of hearing – are captions available?

    Yes, the videos are captioned by YouTube, the presentation has a live transcript option through zoom, please contact Jay Cafferata at jay@asltraining.com to set that up.

    We provide training for professional development, organizational behavior, and leadership skills. We specialize in cultural awareness or humility - sometimes referred to as DEI Work. DEI or Diversity Equity and Inclusion is typically about Human Resources and staffing. We believe that Justice and Belonging are far more important concepts - Justice can only be wielded by those who have the power to enforce it and Belonging is for the people who deserve justice.
